Tuesday April 7th, fire destroyed part of, Suntex garment factory, one of the largest garment factories in Cambodia. As the fire blazed through the south end of the factory employees rushed to salvage sewing equipments and textiles. The fire that was discovered around 5.30pm mobilized all the fire trucks in Phnom Penh. As night set in, fire fighters struggled to access the fire due to thick plumes of smoke, instead focusing their efforts on stopping the blaze from spreading to other nearby factories.
